Lorinda Tang is an adept professional writer, specialising in law and health, and she is also a creative writing including fiction and non-fiction works.

Currently, Lorinda is pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing and Literary Criticism through Deakin University. She has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Macquarie University and has also practised as a solicitor and a registered nurse.

Originally from Sydney, Lorinda initially worked in the hospital setting as an assistant in nursing and registered nurse, gaining 6 years of experience across health specialities.

Whilst studying law, she was employed as a paralegal working on motor vehicle accident cases. On her admission to practice as a solicitor she continued working with a mid-tier Sydney law firm, completing graduate placements in corporate law, intellectual property and insurance law. She then settled into her role in Health and Insurance Law, primarily working on the conduct of litigation. She has worked on numerous medical negligence claims and professional conduct reviews, advised health providers on ethics and risk management, and assisted with the administrative and corporate aspects of health provision. Lorinda also worked on a pro-bono basis with the Homeless Persons Legal Service in Sydney, advising clients on administrative and criminal matters.

Lorinda worked with Rotary District 9680 to prepare and present leadership conferences each January from 2005 – 2009. She received the Rotary Youth Leadership award in 2004, and was a delegate to the International Rotary Youth Leadership Conference in Los Angeles in 2008. In 2009 she facilitated at the International Rotary Youth Leadership Conference in Birmingham, UK.

In 2010 Lorinda moved to Adelaide and chose to pursue her Master of Arts, following her passion for writing. Before becoming a mother, she served on the Board of Citizen Advocacy South Australia.

Lorinda has extensive industry experience and a wealth of knowledge. In addition to her writing skills, she is an adept presenter and experienced facilitator of small groups and workshops, focusing on writing, law and leadership.

Lorinda currently lives in the Adelaide Hills with her husband and three young children.
